| Moving in to new digs - our friends backed out on us so we rented a crane. |
Johnston Printing was founded in 1947 by Roy Arnold and Bill Pemberton, and served print buyers throughout the Inland Northwest for many years as AP Business Service Printers. In 1976, Steve and Pat Johnston bought the firm and then changed the name to Johnston Printing.
A family owned and managed operation, Johnston Printing has grown from 1 employee and a couple one color duplicators, to an effective team of 24 employees and millions of dollars in prepress, printing, bindery and mailing equipment.
From its original location on West Riverside, the company moved to a 3,000 square foot facility on East Sprague. Business soared at the new location, and our capacity increased with the installation of several new presses, including a 2 color MANRoland press.

In 1995, Johnston moved to its present location at 159 S. McClellan, a 17,000 square foot facility in the heart of Spokane's historical panhandler district. Chad and Jason Johnston came on board as sales representatives in 1989, and the company began an aggressive capabilities expansion.
A full, digital prepress facility was installed, along with a major printing enhancement with our Sakurai 4 color press. In 1998, the Komori 6 color press was installed and bindery and assembly capabilities were expanded. In 1999, customer service was further enhanced with the implementation of our full service mailing house.
Johnston Printing has high aspirations and a positive outlook on the meeting the future of our client's advertising, design, sales and corporate communication needs. We value our loyal clients, and look forward to expanding the Johnston Printing experience to new clients.
